Hello World Bike and Eileen,
This video is a great idea, and needs to happen, and be good. i feel there is a race happening in the devoping world, a race to establish tasteful, simple, and human powered energy applications before industrialization and burnout, as we now know it, can take hold. A video that demonstrates the power of the bicycle as a community tool should blow away videos of Africans getting electricity. I have volunteered as a shop facilitator every tuesday night for over a year at Community Cycles www.communitycycles.org in Boulder Colorado and I have experience in filming and in editing backcountry ski videos. I don't yet have final cut or other expensive editing software, but I know that I can use microsoft to rough cut footage, save it in DV-AVI format for further compilation in imovie or final cut. Rough cut footage is much easier to work with and facilitates flow of creativity and agenda. Send me a CD or DVD of the raw.
I have never left the United States, and I am eager to know what life is like prior to industrialization. I may be interested in traveling and bicycle touring to capture footage of nitty gritty cargo bicycle usage (Rwanda, etc.) if the opportunity arises. It would take a little planning, as I have a full time job. I am good at backcountry filming, and cycling and repair. I have a mini Digitial Video camera and can do technical stuff, and have a nack for candid filming. I could use help with management/organizational stuff: planning, scripting, interview needs and execution, etc.
